The multimedia exhibition by Sissa Micheli is conceived from objects, videos, photographs, photograms, drawings and written works from the last two years as well as wall paintings, which she places in a new context in terms of content and form for Kunsthalle Nexus. Her works oscillate between reality and fiction, between present and future - an irritating combination that aims to address collective emotions such as the need for protection or the hope for survival strategies. In her questioning of existence, the artist acts as a researcher who finds inspiration not only in (natural) science and (space) technology, but also in current events, in philosophy, art, literature and history, and links them to personal experiences and observations. The exhibition focuses on topographical and geological situations such as caves, mountains, lakes, forests, parks, and other places. are used as metaphors of survival or failure. The most important scenic material used for this purpose is the aluminium and polyester rescue blanket developed by NASA in 1964, with the inner silver side simulating natural elements. It opens up new universes, not without "unhinging the world" through fictitious constellations and questioning physical laws.
