In the foreground are two tendencies, between which there exists fluid movement – an oscillation between the desire for freedom and authenticity on one hand and integration with social conventions on the other, passed from one generation to the next. The choice leads to a search one might liken to a tightrope walk. It is a sensitive act of accepting, refusing, and reinventing. Images and texts work associatively and are to be seen as metaphors.
