For Sissa Micheli, Frenzi Rigling and Frederike Schweizer, the examination of the environment and a relationship to the location were the basic approach to developing their joint work for the eighth temporary exhibition at Kunstraum Weikendorf..

In order to establish a more direct reference to the public, they moved their installation to the outside space. At the same time, however, it denies insight into the interior of the Kunstraum. Using found material, components of an abandoned house in the neighborhood, a kind of board wall was erected in front of the shop window, which is the only way to view the respective exhibition. Only through a few cracks and gaps is it now possible to look into the exhibition space. If you want to discover something in it, you have to walk a few steps towards the house and get very close.

The title of the exhibition, "Struck By", suggests a sudden event, something that hits us abruptly as if out of the blue. This is possibly frightening and at the same time makes us curious. It raises the question of the extent to which we protect and close ourselves off from change or whether we allow it to happen. Are we being torn out of an existing structure and the protection that has been built up, or does change offer the option of an encounter with something new?
